About The Composer
Ms. Katterman has been working in two careers simultaneously -- working as a Composer -- and also working in the legal field as an Administrative Assistant.
Ms. Katterman grew up in Tucson, Arizona. Ms. Katterman started writing music when she was 10 years old. It has always been something she has passionately enjoyed doing. As a child, she played the violin in several orchestras (school orchestras as well as Young Junior Strings -- a community orchestra for kids in Tucson, Arizona), sang in several choirs, and played the piano. She also wrote music for theatre, her high school band and piano recitals.
Ms. Katterman received her Bachelor's degree in Music Composition from the University of Arizona in 1999. Ms. Katterman has written music for film and television, theatre, piano, combo groups, orchestra, and various independent projects.
Ms. Katterman enjoys writing musical commentaries on things that she finds inspiring -- such as her Parents, the Coast To Coast Show, Alfred Hitchcock, Charles Ives, Stravinsky, the Piano as a beautiful instrument, and a few others.
Ms. Katterman enjoys experimenting with harmonic language and mixing styles from different eras.
